Activities
Trevelin town is characterized for its agricultural production, the raising of cattle and sheep as well as the cultivation of flowers, fruits, vegetables and other local products. In addition to the production of local honey and beer, Trevelin also has three of the southernmost vineyards found throughout the world.
Tourism is a key part of the region´s economy where a large variety of lodging, gastronomy and outdoor focused activities are prevalent. Trevelin is often used as a basecamp for avid fans of flyfishing, trekking, mountain biking and camping during the warmer months. Snowskiing at the nearby La Hoya and Monte Bianco ski resorts, then makeup the focus of outdoor activities during the winter season.
Recent increases in agrotourism have additionally highlighted Trevelin as a prime stepping off point to learn about the region´s history, local resources and unique ecology. Trips to vineyards may be combined with the added experience of visiting tulip and peonies fields during their flowering period.
Likewise, various cultural tours such as the Molino Andes regional museum, Nant Fach Mill museum, Old Patagonian Express and the Welsh tea houses will take each visitor back in time to learn how Trevelin´s culture came to be.
